Ladakh
I love wild cats, Snow Leopard being one of my favourites. For a long time I tought it was impossible to see it in the wild, but the increasing number of recent sightings from the Hemis National Park in Ladakh, northwestern India gave me hope. Fellow nature artist, Mark Andrews invited me on the first trip in 2009. We had a sighting on our 5th day (I’ve missed the first encunter, but reloacted the animal later). The local tour agent, Phunchok Tsering brought up the idea taking groups from Hungary there, so I could return twice after this trip, in 2011 and 2015. We were succesful again, having 2 sightings in 2011, and 3 animals, a mother with her 2 full-grown, 3 years old cub for a whole day in 2015.
We’ve added a visit to a high altitude lake, Tso Kar on our last trip.
